right side pain

I have IBS, have had for 10 years or so now (or known about it for that long)
I'm a 32yo female, moderately overweight, gallbladder removed for stones in 2004.
About a year ago (give or take a few months) I had a series of episodes over a week to ten day period where I had severe lower to mid right side pain, by the time I made an appointment and got in to my gyn the pain was gone. They did an ultrasound anyway and said they found some fluid in my abdominal cavity, but thats all.
This past Thursday the pain started again, started midway up right side, then moved to very lower right side and has stayed there. Thursday morning I had several episodes of severe pain, accompanied by nausea and dizziness, by afternoon the worst was over (it came in waves that lasted maybe a minute) and was a slight ache. I called my gyn on Friday, she had me take a pregnancy test (negative) then come in for blood work. I have an ultrasound scheduled for Monday. Friday I had no bad episodes of pain but have had 3 today over a 4-6 hour period. I do not seem to be running a fever but the pain is accompanied by nausea.
It does not seem to be tender to the touch but does hurt more when I move around and bend over. It does not feel like IBS pain, or gas pain as I am very familiar with both of those. In between spells it can be no pain to mild/moderate ache. Some pain in the area between right side and navel as well, but less.
Just wondered if anyone had experienced anything like this before an had any ideas/tips for me.

Welcome to the board, although I am sorry that you are experiencing so much pain.
Has anyone considered that it might be your appendix? You didn't mention if it has been removed. Have you had gynecological issues that keep you focused on thinking there is a 'female' component to the pain?
Since you'll be seeing your Gyne tomorrow (Monday), you might mention appendicitis and make sure the ultrasound checks this out too. Please keep us updated and I hope a cause and remedy is found quickly!

<Did the blood work show that your white count was OK? I hadn't thought about it, but guess an appendix might not show up!

<Thanks for the update, although you must be a bit frustrated right now. Hopefully the blood work will come back negative, but it may be time to see your regular doctor too.
Please keep us updated, OK?

<Wouldn't it be a good idea to call and make the appointment now? Unless your doctor is different than most I've dealt with, you will have to wait at least a week to get in, so making any appointments now would be helpful....just a thought!
Enjoy your weekend and hopefully the pain will dissipate on its own!
