Gallbladder Trouble

Hi. I'm a 33 year old female and have been having pain for about a week now in my upper right abdomen, right under my rib cage. So, I went to the Dr's yesterday and he determined, based on where the pain was located, that it was my gallbladder. He sent me for blood work and I have an ultrasound scheduled for Thursday.
Surprisingly, my pain has pretty much subsided today, but I feel this fullness/pressure where my pain had been when I sit down or bend forward. So, now I'm worried that maybe I have a tumor or something in there. My GP did an abdominal exam yesterday so you'd like if I had a growth that I can feel from the inside that he would've felt it from the outside, right? I've just got myself all worked up that I have (very rare) gallbladder cancer instead of gallstones or gallbladder disease. I guess I just need some reassure to relax.
Thanks,
Tracy

Glad you found us Tracy!
Our minds sure can get us worked up! If your Dr. is pretty sure that your symptoms and the exam are pointing towards a problem with your gallbladder, the tests that were ordered should tell you for sure. The ultrasound would detect any abnormal growths, like tumors. Here is some information that might help clarify things for you...

Please feel free to visit often and of course, let us know the results of the testing, OK?

<Hi Tracy - I'm sorry to hear you are having problems. Before my GB surgery I was convinced that I also had GB cancer - which, as you mentioned, is very very rare.
For what it's worth - try not to think about it. You will have your answer on Thursday when they do the ultrasound. I don't think that the symptoms of GB cancer are similar to GB attacks.
I've been GB-free for a while now - but I do recall that the pain was different when I moved to different positions - I know that I couldn't sleep on my right side - which had always been my favorite sleeping side.
Wishing you all the best & please let us know how you are doing.
