I have Acid Reflux, IBS, and Diverticulitis. I have alot of stomach and bowel trouble. I get so annoyed with all these problems I have with my stomach and bowels. I also have no gallbladder cause I had three huge gall stones in my gallbladder they had to do surgery and remove my gallbladder. I am glad I had the surgery. Those gallbladder attacks where so painful and awful. I have diarrhea alot cause of the I.B.S. and Diverticulitis. When I eat spices I get heartburn with acid reflux. Man is Acid Reflux awful to have. Has any one throw up stomach acid. Tell your expieriences with Acid Reflux,I.B.S.,Diverticulitis and gallbladder trouble cause I want to know.

I only have some acid reflux which is controlled with Nexium. I've never met anyone who regretted having their gallbladder out.

I do hope you are seeing a doctor and getting some help with all of your stomach issues.

I had my gallbladder removed quite a few years ago and other than some minor problems, I have been fine. I do have IBS, but it isn't too severe and I am able to work around it most days.

I don't think I've ever vomited stomach acid; how do you know for sure that is what you are vomiting? I would think your stomach has to be totally empty to only have that coming up?

Are you looking for any particular help, or just looking for others that can relate to your issues? Sometimes it is helpful, just knowing that you're not alone and you might find another that can share certain 'remedies' that have helped them.

Thank you for explaining; you certainly have many stomach issues to deal with.

My IBS fluctuates, so I feel like everything 'evens out', if that makes sense.

The acid reflux/heartburn sound like your worst issues; do the otc medications give you enough relief? Can your doctor Rx anything stronger that might give you more, longer lasting relief?

From what I understand about Type 2 Diabetes, that is an extra challenge, isn't it? I have known others that have to deal with needing to eat at certain times, but have trouble finding the correct foods to help. Is that part of the problem for you? Can you get help from a nutritionist, through your doctor? Possibly you aren't making the correct food choices and are aggravating the stomach issues?

Have you visited the Diabetes board, here at iVillage?

I also have acid reflux, in addition to IBS, celiac disease and food allergies. I didn't normally throw up acid, but I had sore throats, heartburn, and I dry coughed a lot, especially when I was sleeping (or trying to). I take a prescriptive medicine (Lansoprazol) and it is better than over the counter antacids. I don't remember the doctor's explanation exactly, but the Lansoprazol binds with different "receptors" and stops all the causes of acid reflux, while the antacid only stops one source of acid. Lanso completely controls my acid reflux and I have taken it for years. Antacid is not an effective substitute, although its better than nothing.
