Painful lower right tummy - worried
| Fri, 12-14-2007 - 2:07pm |
I've been going mad for weeks now. In late November I started having a painful tummy, feeling sick, headaches, fever and feeling run down. I saw my doctor 3 times and he first thought it was a bug, then gladstones and now I was told my blood tests were normal but theres nothing they can do til my scan on Jan 7th 2008! The pain is killing me. I can go to the toilet but it's painful too, but theres nothing worrying in the act itself. A few weeks ago I was given this pills, Zydol 50mgs, which really do help the pain. Now could this be anything really bad or a bug? If I can go to the toilet, thats a good sign right?? Can anyone help me out here with any ideas?!?

Welcome, although I am sorry that you are feeling so poorly.
Since you have seen your doctor three times and the bloodwork isn't showing any infections, you probably have no choice but to wait for the scan to be done in early January. If your Dr. saw something in the test results to cause alarm, he would have been able to get you in sooner.
Have you tried heat and/or ice on the area? Either of those might help a bit.
Please keep letting us know how you feel and of course I'll be waiting to hear the results of the scan too!
Happy Holidays!

<Do you have a gynecologist that you see regularly? Maybe you should call him/her and see if that Dr. might think of anything 'female' related. Not to scare you, but an ectopic pregnancy would cause intermittent pain...has anyone thought to do a pregnancy blood test? This is much more exact with results than one of the those 'pee-on-a-stick' type tests.
You hadn't mentioned your periods being out of sync earlier. If you think pregnancy is even remotely a possibility, please get that test done asap, OK?

<I definitely can sympathize with you.
I had also thought about the appendix, but because the blood test
