Hmm what's going on?

5 days ago I started having pain in my upper back, focused more on the right side. I would have to arch my back or apply pressure (laying over the couch) to try and ease the discomfort. On the third night i noticed the discomfort began to radiate to the front, mostly in the right rib/middle area.(I remember having that feeling before)well on the forth day I still had the back pain, now mostly concentrating on the right shoulder blade area and going into my right rib. Some discomfort also went down into the right abdomen area. Well yesterday and today the back pain is mostly gone aside from a few discomfort feelings in the right shoulder area, but the uncomfortableness is still in the right rib/middle area. If I press under my right rib or to the left of it it causes some discomfort. I noticed the past couple days it doesn't take much to make me full, I still get hungry but once I start eating I don't finish. Today I still have the discomfort-almost a full feeling or a sharp pain in my right rib area, my abdomen, feels full/uncomfortable feeling and now I have stomach acids working its up up..or I can only guess because of the taste. I have also been kinda gassy and backed up..kind of embarrassing to write but I don't want to just show up at the Dr's or Er for something that could be nothing ya know? Oh I don't know if it helps..but the past couple nights I have felt a little faint along with headaches. Though I'm pretty prone to headaches so I'm not sure that matters. Anyways, thanks.

I was just researching gallbladder symptoms for another poster and came across this:

Some people experience symptoms that occur suddenly, which is known as a gallstone attack. The most common symptom of an attack is biliary colic. This constant pain in the upper abdomen lasts from 30 minutes to several hours. Pain may be felt in the back between the shoulder blades or under the right shoulder.

Sound familiar?

I think a visit to your doctor is definitely in order. He will order some tests to be sure what is going on. Please keep us updated!

Thanks. It does in a way, the discomfort I'm having doesn't seem to be going away. It's been going on for days now, sometimes more uncomfortable than others. Caused me to get sick right after eating my food a couple times. But it is right in/under my right rib area and to the left of it. It can felt in some parts of my back as well. Thanks for the information.

Hello. I had my appt this morning. My dr is concerned that I'am only tender in that one area and combined with my symptoms he suspects my gallbladder. He wants me to go have a abdomen u/s tomorrow. He says if my symptoms increase like the other day(he suspects maybe a gallbladder attack)if I have nausea/vomiting, increased pain, hard belly/sticks out, to go into the Er so it can be checked out. If everything checks out and isn't the gallbladder than we can discuss whatever else it might be but as of right now he thinks its my gallbladder and wants to get that looked.

Well I called my Dr and the results came back normal. The lady asked if I was still having the pain and I told her it comes and goes, acts up more sometimes, more than others. She asked if I wanted to come in, maybe get on some meds or be referred to a specialist or maybe just watch it. I opted just to keep an eye on it.

Keep us posted on what happens.

Is there anything you eat or do that has any effect on the pain?
