Hi, my name's Shanna and I was on the ttc board 2 years ago only to discover, after 2 years of ttc, that I have endometriosis. My partner could not handle this and so left within a month of finding out :-(
Anyway ... I'm with someone new now and we've decided to start fertility treatment together (at least he knew what he was letting himself in for from the start). Can anyone let me know the first step? I have an appointment with my gynecologist on 17 September.
I'd appreciate any help and assistance at this difficult time.
Thanks.

Shanna - this is Julie, who you sent a posting of encouragement to.
Well, here's one coming right back at you! I don't know what the outcome of your fertility trials will be, but you seem to be in the right place right here on this board, as there are many who support those of us who are new and don't really know what to expect. I know that they welcomed me with open arms, and it never hurts to have one more supporter during a time of need!
While I cannot offer anything material in the form of advice for your situation, what I can do is keep you in my prayers in the hopes that they are answered with a successful pregnancy for you. I am also thankful that your current partner is sympathetic and supportive of you.
Best of success! I will await updates from you and keep you in my prayers!
I just wanted to let you know what my wonderful DH and I went through with our test. We had been trying for several years and had not gotten a BFP so we finally went to the DR. I whent in for my regular one year check up and yes it had been a while. I was seeing a new DR because mine had moved. Anyway he was really great. He asked a few questions and then told me that he would like to do a few test. He took several tubes of blood tht day and he also did a blood test half way through my cycle to see if I was O. He also had my husband to be tested. (That test came back good). I also did a HSG dye test on my tubes and he did a test were my DH and I had to have sex that morning( sorry if TMI) and see if had had any kind a chemicals in my boddy that would kill DH sperm. All test look good except the test to see if I am O. I have done this test 2 times and I have to do one more test next month. My DR said it does not look like I am O and he wants to put me on clomid which I am ok with. I am glad to finally try something. Anyway I know that this is a lot of information and I am sure each DR is different, but this is what is happing to me. Good Luck and I hope you get you BFP soon.
Thanks Julie, that was really sweet of you - that message just brought a tear to my eye. I think just knowing that other people are going through the same thing is support in itself though obviously you would not wish this sort of thing on anyone.
I will keep you updated of my progress and obviously you will need to do the same.

Hi,
All those tests sound familiar lol. I know my first assisted conception stage is Clomid and i'm seeing my doctor today about it as I was unsure as to whether I am to see my doctor about it or my gynecologist so I also have an appointment with my gynecologist on 17 Sep as well.
Whats happening with your Clomid situation? Is your doctor prescribing it or refering you to someone and, if so, who?

My gynecologist is going to be giving me the clomid. He said that after he tries everything that he can and I am still have not gotten a BFP he would send me to someone else. So we will just see how it goes. Good Luck
Good luck with the Clomid, hope it gets you that BFP!!!
