Hi My name is Anna, DH and I ahve been TTC since 5/05. Working with a RE for about 9 months. We've done all the testing and the only thing they can come up with is dh has a low count, which he is on clomid and is helping very much. We've done 2 IUI's..our first IUI, I had a beta done 2wks after it was BFN. I started spotting/bleeding around the time for normal AF so it wasnt such a big surprise that it didnt work.. we were sad, but sucked it up as we would try again. After 12 days of spotting we had a meeting with re on what the next step should be... told her about spotting and she ordered a beta...
Didnt hear anything so I figured it was still a BFN... The nurse called the next day and said it was a BFP!!! I needed a progesterone shot cause that was low... got the shot and my numbers went up, down, then up again and to make 3 long weeks of beta testing/emotional roller coaster of emotions a little shorter we m/c. After that I wanted to start right away so my body would remember what to do and I would try to forget the m/c. We did another IUI the next month and it was a BFN and I wasnt able to forget the m/c..We've taken 2 months off and am now jumping back on the IUI train.
My question for all of you ladies is kind of stupid, but I want to ask someone that is/has going through the same thing that we are.
DH and I are just buying our first home. The new home has 5 bedrooms. 2 guest bedrooms, 1 office, 1 masterbed and across the hall from that there is a great room that would be perfect for a nursery. My sisters have given me a crib, changing table, dresser, and any other baby item you can think of. I dont know if I should put all the baby stuff in the basement and look at this empty room or put the stuff in the room (not really put it together and decorate, but have it in there just in case)and have the heartache of looking at it each time AF shows up? Im up for any ideas you have. I just wanted to ask someone that has experenced IF.

Best Wishes to all,

Anna

My Dh is on clomid as well. He has an appt with his urologist on Monday to see if his numbers have improved. He has been on the drug since for 3 months. I am glad to hear you DH's numbers improved, but am so sorry to hear about your loss.

Was it only his count that was low? How about his morph?

As far as the room, that would be difficult for me to see furniture in a room without having a BFP. It would be more convenient in that you won't have to move it twice. But I think it will be worth it to keep that for when you are ready to take your baby home. Your new home sounds wonderful!!

best of luck to you!

Hes been on clomid 25mg for about a year. His testosterone was very low, count and morph was low on SA as well. His testosterone has went through the roof (now to a normal range), his SA is great if we hold on "relations" for 3 days. If we only hold off 2 days it makes a big difference and drops ALOT. Our 1st IUI we had "realtions" as directed which was 2 days before IUI and his count was so low that after the IUI the nurse told me not to get my hopes to up because his count was so low. So the next iui dh told the nurse he thought he should wait 3 days and she said that was fine and his counts were great.
Who knows... I hope the clomid has helped your dh.

Best wishes!

Anna

Hi there,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I also had a mc at about 2 weeks- it was devistating. I stayed in my house crying wondering why. It took me 8 months to conceive the first time and now 8 months later I am still trying. I just wanted to say good luck and stick around, there are some amazing ladies on this board with such supportive words.
