venting

So at work today I am sitting there working on the computer when a whole discussion erupts behind me on babies.  One of the nurse's is pg and was talking about how her baby better be a girl and if it ends up being a boy she will be so mad.  And then another gal pipes in (who just had a baby) and said she really wanted a boy and was mad when she found out she was having a girl.  And then the pg person talks some more about how she is going to be induced because she does not want to be inconvenienced and have her baby on Christmas.... and so on.

People are so insensitive and completely take for granted the wonderful blessings that they have.  Don't they know there are tons of women like us out there who would give anything just to have a baby?  I didn't pipe in and tell them that.  Maybe I should have.  But I didn't feel up to getting into it at the time.  So I just ignored them.  But I guess I really didn't ignore them b/c I'm still thinking about it now.

Anyway, just wanted to vent and see if anyone else has felt the same way....  thanks for listening.

There's a pg woman at my office who has 3 boys and is refusing to find out this new baby's gender because she "doesn't think she can handle it if it's a boy." It makes me so upset. She has three children already, and given how far along she is, we were already ttc for more than a year when she conceived this possibly-unwanted baby! So you are definitely not alone. :)
