Can your employer deny dr. appts?

I was wondering if your employer can deny that you go to the dr. for fertility treatment if it means missing time from work?  I am at a new job and I hate trying to balance treatment and appointments. I have taken a break for 6+ months and am thinking of starting up again. I don't know how to bring up the topic with my new employer.

You should be covered under FMLA (the family medical leave act).

The only thing is that I have not been there a year and under FMLA you have to be with your current employer for at least 12 months.

Hi, I believe it depends on your employer's policy on how soon after starting you can use your paid time off.

I agree with the PP, they can't really ask you for specifics.

Just say you have medical appts and do not specify why. If they are worried you can say it's not life threatening, you will be OK, but it's something you need to take care of. I generally think specifying it's fertility treatments in the workplace is a bad idea. I don't think you should tell work anything about TCC or being pg til you're showing...like at 3-4 months pg.
