Is there any hope?

Hi,

I hope someone can just tell me this is all worth it.  My husband & I have been married for 5 & 1/2 yrs.  We were TTC for what seemed like forever and finally got pregnant.  Our son was born on 05/05/05.  However, he was killed in a HORRIFIC SEMI VS. CAR accident on 6/21/05.  He was only 7 wks old.  My husband and I have finally come to the point where we are ready to move on and have decided to ttc again.  This will be our 3rd month of Clomid.  I don't know if anyone has the side effects that I do but they are really bad.  I advised my doctor of this and he lowered the dosage.  He refuses to do any testing on my husband or myself at this point.  He just keeps telling me that we are capable of getting pregnant and we need to ride the Clomid out.

I know all of you on Clomid know this already but its just so depressing taking the Clomid, having the side effects, doing all the OV testing, being stressed out about it and then a few weeks later to start another period.  I'm just starting to doubt if I even have the strength to continue.  Does anyone have any advice?

~Thanks in advance~

Hello Vikki,

I'm curious, does your doctor suspect you have PCOS?

Vikki,

I'm so sorry for your and your DH's loss.

Is the doc you're seeing an OB/GYN? I ask because usually a doc wouldn't just decide to put you on Metformin. There are tests that should be done first to determine if you have PCOS. I would question this as you shouldn't be on a med unecessarily.

Dh and I have been trying for 12+ years and a semen analysis was one of the first things that was done. It's much less invasive to do that than to put the wife on meds that have all these s/e's without even knowing if it's an issue with her the dh or a little of both. Maybe you should look into getting a referral to an RE or a GYN that specializes in infertility.

By the way...I remember Clomid all to well as does my DH. Boy was I a moody, mean woman. That stuff can be brutal. The best advise I can give is be educated about your options and ask questions, lots of them. I write ??'s down as I think of them and then bring my pad to my docs appt with me. Good luck, I hope this works out for you.

Vikki-

You've been through so much but sound like such a strong woman. I can't even imagine what you've gone through.
