Looking for IF friends?

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has a MySpace account and would be looking to add new friends who are dealing with infertility.  I have a MySpace website that I use to keep in touch with old high school friends but I'm ashamed to admit that sometimes I'm a little green with envy at them.  Pretty much all of my high school classmates are parents, conceived with very little difficulty.....I feel like an alien compared to them.  Would like to be able to talk about what I'm going through, could use some extra support.  I only know one other person having difficulty conceiving but its my DH's SIL, and I don't really open up much to her due to some issues in the past.

I was reading about some women who became friends online using a weight-loss website, and they're such great supports for each other, so it got me thinking that maybe I could meet some friends through MySpace.

A little background on me: I'm 29 (soon to be 30) and my husband is 38 and we've been trying since 9/06.  We just started seeing an RE, and I just had an HSG done.  I have two cats (Cleo and Artemis.....they have websites too! lol)  I love to read.  Been married for three years.....my URL is  http://www.myspace.com/liz4478

I'm always interested in making new friends, and I thought it might be a good way for me to "come out of the shadows".  For the most part its just DH and I going through all of this.  I just ask that if you do visit my site and decide to add me as a friend, that you send me a message so that I don't accidently deny you!

Thank you!

Hello all!! I am always looking for people to talk to about IF as well. Thankfully though I was "lucky" in the way that when my DH & I were ttc & going through the Dr's appointments & then RE visits that my best friend was dealing w/IF as well so we became each others support system.

I was ttc starting in 2004 & then stopped a few months later because DH & I started having problems which things worked out in the end & started actively TTC again a year later in 2005. By the end of 2006 we started talking to my ob/gyn & was started on Clomid w/no results. 3 months later I started seeing an RE because the ob/gyn was blowing me off & just real cold. March of last year I had my HSG & found out that I had a blocked fallopian tube & it seemed that my uterus was what they call "unicorn" shaped. A month later in April I went in for a laparscopy & hysteroscopy & my tube had to be removed since it was blocked beyond repair. I also found out through that I only had 1 tube. My right one never developed & since my left one was removed I had no chance of ever conceiving naturally.

We made the decision to go thru IVF (our only shot at getting pregnant). I'm not sure if you all are familiar w/IntgraMed Shared Risk. It's a program that allows you to pay just 1 time for about 3 attempts at IVF rather than paying each cycle you do the procedure & if none of those attempts result in a child you would be refunded 70% of the $$ you paid. We were turned down for it & we only had the $$ to pay out of pocket for 1 chance. In September DH & I made the decision not to risk all that $$ & it not work. We decided to take the $$ that we were going to use for IVF & start the adoption process. We aren't very far in the process still gathering paperwork to submit before we get assigned a social worker.

If any of you would like to keep in contact my email is buckeye_chick4ever@hotmail.com. Just put in the subject heading who you are & that it's about IF. I feel talking about the feelings & where you are at in the process is a great stress relief especially when it's to people who understand.

Good luck to you all!
