Question about Evaluation

Hi,
I've been a lurker for a while, but finally have been making some progress enough to post a question.
My husband and I have been trying for several years to conceive. He went to a Dr. few years ago and they told him everything was fine...... Long story short we went to new Dr. and he actually doesn't have any sperm at all. It seems as though the previous Dr. never even looked at the semen analysis. Needless to say that was difficult to deal with. He went for a testicular harvest and everything (the works), but to no avail.
After a long road, many sleepless nights and lots of discussion we have decided to go with Doner Sperm. We have visited with our RE and he is having me do a laproscopy and hysteroscopy due to having PCOS and possibly Endometriosis.
My question is this..... Our RE is having us see a therapist for an evaluation prior to ordering the sperm from the donor bank. Does anyone know if this is normal?
Thanks for all the posts, I have really learned a lot from all of you!!!

I know that at our clinic if you go through IVF or IVM if you use a sperm donor or an egg an egg donor you have to go through a counseling session. Our clinic has a counselor available through the clinic and it is just to make sure you both agree to the procedure. It is also to make sure that in the case of donor sperm or egg neither of the parent will eventually turn around and say that it is not there child because they used a donor.
So no biggy it is standard procedure were we are.
Hello and Welcome!
I'm sorry to hear about your IF issues, however, it sounds like you and DH have come up with a plan that you can both get excited about.
