Hey Guys
Just wanted to reach out for some extra PT&P. I have an U/S tomorrow to see if my first round of Clomid worked. Here's to keeping my fingers crossed! It's also the first appointment that DH is going to attend-- so I am a little apprehensive on how it's going to work out. Normally, when I am alone, I end up crying (I've had very few good appointments.) and I wonder if I will be worse with him there or not. On one hand, I will have the support of him to let go, but on the other, I want to be strong....idk..... maybe it will be a FABULOUS appointment and we will get FABULOUS news and it won't matter!

hi rachael,
good luck tomorrow! i had my IUI today. it was painless, but i've felt crampy all day. oh, and my 1st time w/ clomid didn't work, but we bumped up the dose and it worked this time. RE says it's all about getting the right dose. i hope it works this time, but if not don't despair!!!!!

IVF/ICSI/AZH#1 Aug'07, BFN (6 usable eggs, 5 embies, 2 transferred, 1st beta=18, 2nd beta=12, 0 made it to blast to freeze)
IVF/ICSI#2:retrieval Nov'07, FET sched Jan'08, no embryos to transfer (23 usable eggs, 12 embies, 0 made it to transfer)

So....the clomid worked, but it didn't.
The right ovary had 9 follies, the largest was 7mm. He wants to see a dominant on at leat 12-13mm. The left ovary had none. Typical, it's always been the problem child.
So, he's putting me on Ogestrel for 6 weeks so that the follies reabsorb and my ovaries have a break. Then we will try another cycle of clomid, this time, in a more controlled situation. With my history of PCOS and how many follies I had, he was afraid of the possiblity of multiples if we continued this cycle. I can understand that, although I am slightly disappointed. Ho Hum. What are you gonna do?
That's the plan. Not good, not bad. Just there.
Good news is, the clomid definetly worked for me, we just have to work on the timing. BTW, for you clomid savvy ladies....how long till the hot flashes subside? LOL-- I'm spending a lot of time in Tahiti! :D

Girl, I'm baskin' in that Tahitian sun, too! This is my first round of Clomid, so I can't tell you when it subsides, but man it sucks! The first day I was on it I was in the middle of teaching math when I got a hot flash and I had to sit down at my desk, fan myself with my gradebook, and drink cold water. The kids looked at me like, uhm, are you ok? After the first day I didn't have many true hot flashes, but rather just warm flushes, I guess you'd call them. i'm so sorry this cycle had to end, but glad you have a plan! RE told me that clomid is out of your body 24-48 hrs after your last dose, but i took clomid a few weeks ago and am still having hot flashes (it actually feels like i'm really embarrassed!). i also have pcos. my first clomid round was cancelled since there was no dominant follicle. i was on 100mg CD5-9, so i had to go back on BCPs, get a period, and start again. he bumped me up to 200mg CD5-9 (he said that's the max dose for me) and my body responded! so now i take another hcg shot on sun, and then go back for pg test on the 29th (if i haven't had my period yet). i hope the next cycle works for you!
