Hi All, I am new here today. I was wondering if anyone can help. My dh and had 3 failed clomid IUI's. He has low (10 mil) count and not so great morph. Does anyone have any advice if we should try an injections cycle of IUI or just move on to IVF?

I had three failed clomid/iui also and my RE is recommending injectibles next, but we don't have a sperm problem. IVF might be a safer bet, though. I recommend giving your body a break for a little bit before you take more meds. Best wishes!

Photobucket34 years old, Dh is 38; TTC 14 months. DX - hormonal irregularities but was told by two REs that I will get pg one day soon; did 3 Clomid-IUI cycles- #1 BFN; #2 chemical pregnancy; #3 BFP but lost it immediately. Now doing acupuncture and herbs for a natural, unmedicated cycle, but I am taking lots of supplementation including estrogen in a patch, progesterone suppositories, prescription folic acid and baby aspirin.

Well I just found out today, literally a year after the fact, that I did not respond well to Clomid.

I'm sorry you didn't get a BFP. IUI success stories, with or without injectibles are few and far between. If you can afford IVF, I would definately go for it! Good luck!

I just started injectibles after several unsuccessful Clomid w/ IUI and one that resulted in a m/c.

Welcome to the board. I'm sorry you aren't having success with IUI. What does your RE want to do next? I would think IVF would be your best option, but I have no experience with it.

Good Luck to you, I hope you have a new plan soon!

Thank you all for your advice. Like I said, I'm new to these boards and hope I'm doing my response correctly. I listened to what each of you had to say. Giving my body a break is a must. I also agree moving on to IVF. Money is an issue because at the same time we're trying to buy a house. We've been TTC for 22 months and I guess we'll give it a break. If it doesn't happen within a year, see if we can afford IVF. Thank you all so much. I really needed to hear somethings from people who understand. Thank you, thank you.

hi there,

my RE said that if 3-4 clomid/iui cycles didn't work, we would move on to injectables/iui.

Depending on your RE and your ages, they may not let you just jump from clomid to IVF. My RE wouldn't talk about IVF until we did 2 cylces of injects/iui. I'm on my 2nd inject/iui cycle and we're done. If this doesn't work (iui tomorrow), we are not going to try again. It if very costly both financially and emotionally. We are however, no matter what going to start classes to become foster to adopt parents!!! Good luck!
