Hi all... Well I have been doing ok with things & thinking positive about the next step- adoption, but yesterday was a bad day!!!  I got a C-mas card from a friend that just got married last year & there was a pic. on it of her newborn daughter- just born at the beginning of this month.  I wish her well, she is a friend from college, but it just isn't fair that she got pg. right away & is older than me (38) & I feel like why couldn't it have happened for me??  :(.   I just layed in bed & cried :(.  I am doing better today - I guess it is normal to have days like that.  Thanks for listening to me vent!!!  Marisa

It is very normal. I always get upset when I see a pg person or someone in my family gets pg. I'm in a perpetual state of it's not fair. ( ( ( ( H U G S ) ) ) ) Glad you're feeling a little better.

Marisa:

I feel the same way you do. I am looking at adoption also and it makes feel better when the adoptive parents say (of course in retrospect) that they feel IF lead them to the child they were meant to have. Several people have told me that and they don't know each other. The other thing they say is that they feel they are "more celebratory of parenthood because it took them so long to get there," and the little bumps in the road don't get to them as much as probably a typical parent.

Someday, those words get me through a rough day. I totally understand your feelings. I had to see DH's roommate's infant yesterday conceived when roommate was on leave from Iraq and on his honeymoon! UGH!!!

((((((HUGS)))))) to you,

Gabrielle

hi marisa,

(((hugs))) i'm so sorry you had to deal with that. i've found that that kind of thing is everywhere you turn; even on tv. and you're right; totally unfair that she didn't have to "work" for it. even with my good news yesterday, dh finally told me that his cousin just had a baby in august (and got married the august before...we've been married since '02!) and his friend also had a 2nd child over the summer. i started wailing about it, even though we're closer than we've ever been to having our own little one. dh has been the one who screened everything for me, even finding out about movies and deciding what we wouldn't watch. anyway, i really hope today is a better day for you, and you're able to get excited about your plan!
