My MAH!

Ok, so last night DS & I went over to my parents house for dinner since DH wasn't going to be home until 10:30.  My mah always walks me out to my car and we usually talk a little longer, which we did.

Mah:  How are things going?

Me:    OK, I guess...I have a GYN appointment Thursday and we hope the doc says I can get an HSG procedure done.

Mah:  *Rolled Eyes*

Me:    What now?

Mah:  Personally, I don't know why you're going to the doctor so soon, in your TTC journey.  I guess it's because of your generation, always needing gratuity RIGHT NOW!  Everything has to come to you as soon as you even think about something.

Me:    I have secondary infertility mother, most women that got PG really easy with their first and aren't PG by the 6th month of TTC are going in to see their GYN, we waited a YEAR, how is that not waiting? I feel like I should have went sooner.

Mah:  That's what I mean, why don't you just let it happen. You're not getting pregnant for a reason.  When it is time for you to have another child, you will get pregnant.

Me:    Mah, we were trying to just "let it happen" for the first 9 months! Nothing "happened"!

Mah:  I was never on BC, I was never TTC, we always just got PG, we never had to put anything into it

Me:    Yeah mother, your kids are 18months, 3 years, & 15 months apart, with a miscarriage in-between every one of them!

The only reason there’s a 3 year gap is because she got a divorce and remarried, She had a miscarriage before every single one of her children...she has 4 children.

(4 miscarriages, 3 living children, 1 past away - drownedL)

I had a miscarriage before my DS, so I feel like once I do get PG, I'll probably have a MC.

THEN I'LL HAVE TO DO ALL THIS OVER AGAIN!

I really needed to vent thanks for letting me J

What do you think?  Do you think going to the GYN, taking Clomid, & getting an HSG procedure done, after 13-14 months TTC is too soon?

HUGS, sometimes the older generation just does not understand. I've heard that relaxing is the way to get pg from some of my family members before. Puhlease!

I don't think for a second that going to get testing done after 13 or 14 months is too soon. And I definitely don't think that just because your mother had a m/c in between her children means you will too. But I know how scary it is.

I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow and you can move forward and get the testing done that you want. And a BFP!

{{{HUGS}}} My parents were exactly the same way! They did not understand what "trying to get pregnant" means. For their only two children, both times they stopped BCP and my mom never got a period because she was pregnant the next month. :(

They just do not understand! I do not at all think that waiting a year is too short a time.

1. Your son is adorable.

2. Having one miscarriage does not make you any more likely to have another.

3. Your son is adorable.

4. Most gynos will recommend getting on drugs or seeing a specialist after 12 months of TTC so you're right on track there.

5. Your son is adorable.

Hang in there. I think it's good you're going to your doc and getting some help with this. I always think it's best to take these matters into your own hands. Some people just don't understand and I think some people want you to go through what they went through and are jealous of people getting help. Not that your mom is this way but she doesn't seem to understand.

Hang in there. We're here to support you! Best to you at your OBGYN aptmt.
