I love my RE's office. The doctor is great, the nursing staff is lovely, the DE program coordinator & nurses are great. Here's the problem...I go to a satellite office for my b/w since the main office is in NYC. I live about 75 miles north of The City and work about 25 miles north. It's easier for me to go for day-to-day b/w & u/s at the satellite office near work. Shouldn't be a problem, right?
I get a message from the billing dept at the main office yesterday that's a little snotty about needing payment for my prep cycle. I call this morning to chat with the girl and she was actually snippy about how they are "supposed to collect payment before the end of the prep cycle." Excuse me but perhaps you should tell the folks at the satellite office to deal with that or you should call your patients before the end of the cycle to work out payment. When I mentioned that she was the first call I had received and I did not have a statement or bill from the office, she indicated that I should have just paid anyway. Really? How am I supposed to know what I'm paying since everything I have with costs says "prices are subject to change."
Here's the best part...she said that I could sign a credit card authorization form so they could charge my card for the whole DE cycle when it's time. WTF? I'm going to have you charge $32K on my Amex? How about you send me a statement or give me a call like a grown up and tell me when you need payment? I'm not paying now for a cycle that might not happen until 2009 for goodness sake.
Ok, ranting done. Why are people so dopey sometimes?
