Cancelled:(

Well I was incorrect that I had 6 follies on Thurs. The RE nurse said "3 on the left & on the right" so I thought that there were 3 on the left & 3 on the right but there were only 3 all together.

Today's US was no better after doubling my stims dosage since Thurs night. My E2 was only at 39 up from 24 on Thurs.

I kind of knew after seeing the US today that this cycle was going to get cancelled. When I finally got my call back it was my RE & not his nurse so right away I knew that wasn't good. He was very apologetic & said we would need to use a different protocol next cycle.

I am at work and I don't want to be here pretending to be miss happy sunshine when all I want to do is go home & cry.

I asked if this is a sign of my ovarian reserve. He said at my CD2 US there were 11 antral/resting follies which is pretty good according to him. My FSH was a 6 which is also a pretty good for my age. So he doesn't understand why I didn't respond well.

Now I have to wait for AF & call then when she arrives and we can still try naturally... yippee friggin dooda!!

So DH & I have figure out what to do next. Do we try again with our own eggs and hope a change in protocol fixes things or do we look into donor eggs, I don't even know right now.

Nat

I'm so sorry to hear this Nat.
After struggling with infertility, we welcomed our son Noah on March 18, 2010! Formerly a teacher, I am now a breastfeeding, babywearing, stay at home Mom, and I couldn't love it any more!

Kelly,

I'm feeling a little better. Today I'm more angry than sad.

Oh that stinks! And sorry you had to hang out at work. Dealing with this at work is the worst because you don't want to have everyone know what is going on, or show emotions.

Perhaps those just weren't the right drugs for your body and the new protocal will be just the thing! I know it is disappointing though. HUGS!

I'm glad you are feeling better even if it is more anger than sad. That's the next stage in healing. You know I completely get the feeling of everything conspiring against you, that is exactly how I feel. After this last miscarriage I remember screaming, "okay God, I get it, you don't want me to be a mom, I get it, I get it" but yet here I am gearing up to do a donor cycle. It is in every fiber of our beings to be mothers and that just doesn't go away easily. And I completely think it will happen for you again!

You know I guess some protocols just don't jive with some people's chemical makeup for whatever reason. It is great news that your RE had the same estrogen priming cycle in mind for you that you've researched. I hope that is the key to your success. I just don't know why it has to be so hard for some people, it just isn't freaking fair.

Oh and thank goodness you got to cancel before the big expenses of IVF, I did the same. It still cost us close to $3000 but way better than if we'd gone to retrieval.

So what are you doing now? Stopping the meds? Will you O naturally?

Kelly,

I stopped the gonal f yesterday. I asked the RE if we could try naturally & he said yes so I am assuming I will O on my own. I did ask when to expect AF and he said 2 to 4 weeks. He said he didn't think

I just want to say thank you to everyone for your kind words.

I don't even know what I would do if I didn't have you girls to vent to. It is nice to come here and know that you guys "get it" even though I truly wish none of us had to be here dealing with IF.

I am praying that this is the year that each of us get that long awaited BFP!

Yep, just waiting waiting waiting. It is so annoying.

So, that's interesting about the protocol you may try next... it's also frustrating who long the cycle will end up being though. Too bad they won't let you start the priming with your +opk on this cycle!

((BIG HUGS)) I'm so sorry it didn't work this time. My fingers are crossed for you and I'm hoping for a BFP for you in whatever method you choose to do.
