It really riles me up when people on Facebook start complaining about their "baby weight" and how hard it is to lose their "baby belly". To them I want to say - shut up! Be thankful you can have a child. Be thankful you have 5 CHILDREN. Some of us have to struggle and work and pray to hope to have a baby of our own someday. So shut up! I just wish people could appreciate what they have. Not all of us are so damn lucky.

I hate it, too. Even 20 yrs ago, when I wass 20 and was pregnant with DS, I never had any complaints, except he was kicking my ribs and it hurt, and the fact I had to spend forever in the hospital. I just saw that someone posted He is ruining my perfect belly. Are you kidding me? Come on!

Thanks for relating. I know people can't know what others are going through when they say these things. I just wish we lived in a society where people thought a bit more about how their words can hurt. That stupid FaceBook comment I saw today has totally thrown me into crying and feeling awful about our infertility problems. Ugh. Wish I was a little more resistant to stuff like that.

Oh yes, the complaining... I have been through this long enough to brush most of it off now, but once in awhile I could punch a girl in face for a comment like that.

People post about their lives.

Maybe you should keep your opinion to yourself or find another board.
Don't just try to be hurtful. This is about support - if you don't agree - you don't need to reply. Just because it doesn't bother you - doesn't mean it doesn't bother someone else. With a sibling who committed suicide you'd think maybe you'd be a bit more sensitive to people's feelings during the most difficult time in their lives.

l.merrit,

I get what your saying, but I agree with Daisy. Your comment in very insensitive. That would be like us coming to a suicide support board and saying too bad, get over it. We are in a continuous battle with infertility. It's something that affects our daily lives, our lifestyle, and our future. Most of us have lost loved ones, there is no comparison. This is where we come for support and to vent to those who understand. If you don't agree, you could have found a more tasteful way to say it.

Daisy, I was just having the same FB annoyance the other day. I just don't get the frequent complaints about baby weight and bellies, most especially when it becomes the primary focus rather than the baby itself, you know? One of my good friends from college is obsessed with how big her belly is getting and constantly envious of skinny women. It's driving me nuts.

Watching my belly grow was one of my favorite things... but maybe waiting so long for pg helped me appreciate it. I sort of feel sorry for women obsessing over the weight. They're missing a lot. You won't miss a thing when you get pregnant. You'll carry the wonder of it forever.

Hang in there. I'm sending you a big HUG.
