Yuck! The ultrasound appointment did not go as I had hoped.
There was no heartbeat and the baby measured only 6 weeks 1 day…..and at this point, they should be able to see a heartbeat and it should be a little bit bigger. So we spent a long time waiting for the doctor to talk to us and he was shocked by this report. He said my previous blood work numbers were perfect and he doesn’t understand how this happened. We will go back next Tuesday for another ultrasound….just in case it is was a little too early to see the heartbeat today. The Doctor said he did not want to give us false hope, because he said that in most cases like this, the pregnancy is not viable, but in 10%-15% they are surprised to see a heartbeat at the second ultrasound. So, it doesn’t look good for this one.
It just plain stinks. Sorry to be a downer. Thanks for all your prayers and support – it means a lot to me.

Thanks Leslie,
My appt is at 8:30am and I don't really have much hope since I feel like I am beginning to spot. I reall prefer a d&c so I can get past this and move on. I did get news from my insurance company that they will pay for the bloodwork for recurring miscarriages. I hope to find answers with that or at least rule out some of the possible causes. I think I will have those tests tomorrow.
Good luck with your u/s. I can't wait to hear your results.
