We have a heartbeat!
Thu, 12-17-2009 - 8:31pm

I was so nervous before the u/s, but my acupuncturist ensured me this morning that my pulse definitely showed that I was pregnant.  Still, every time the door opened at the RE's office to call someone back I got even more nervous.

But, thankfully, RE spotted the heartbeat as soon as he found the little babe on the u/s.  He showed DH and I the little glowing flicker, wow. :)  He then let us hear the heartbeat and said "You know who that is!"  The heartbeat measured 134 bpm and the little babe measures at 6w,6d.  RE said that everything looks good!

It felt very surreal during the u/s.  DH and I were numb, but as soon as the resident dr. said you can breathe now, I started crying, DH started crying.  I know that I've been very cautious with how today would go and have tried to not think too much about it, so the emotions that were held back came flooding out!

Here's the u/s pics...the first one shows little babe on the left and the yolk sac on the right.  I think little babe looks like a seahorse in this pic. :)  The white spot between the 2 tiny horizontal lines show where the heart is.  The second is a close-up of the little babe.

Thank you all for the prayers and well-wishes along the way.  I am so thankful for all of your support and understanding throughout everything.  I will definitely still accept any SBV's though. :)  I pray we have a keeper!

That is so awesome Grace, I'm so glad that it all went so well!
That's funny the acupuncturist could tell in advance, what was your heart rate like that made her say that I wonder?
I know you have been waiting so long for this day and it is just so great that you got to hear the heartbeat and get those pictures and everything. What a great Christmas present!
