High HCG = twins??

TTC#1, IVF#1, 3 day transfer 3/18, one 4 cell, one 7 cell. Had my HCG on 3/29 (14 days past retrieval). Thrilled that is was positive...VERY POSITIVE at 262. Based upon your experience and exposure on the board...any guesses at probability this could mean twins?? Second blood test tomorrow....

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS! Secondly, maybe multiples, maybe not. My first beta (12 post 3 dt) was 209, and I went on to have one baby. At the 6 wk US my nurse said that he was just very snuggled in for the long haul, and the high number meant that the pregancy was probably here to stay. So if it's one, the high number is good news. I have also seen posts from ladies who had beta's in the low 100's who went on to deliver healthy multiples, so one never knows. I think any way you look at this, it's good news.

Maybe, maybe not. My HCG at 9dp5dt was 137, and I'm having twins, so stranger things have happened! Good luck!
