Coconut oil as lubricant?

After using a couple lubricants that contain glycerin, I've had several BV and yeast infections. No problems with infections before the use of the lubes. I'm wondering if I'm allergic to the glycerin, after reading that many women are. We'd like to try something different--my husband read something about using coconut oil. Is it safe? And is it safe to use with condoms? I've read that petroleum based oils, like vasaline and mineral oil, are bad to use with condoms, and wondered if it was the same with coconut or not. Any input would be appreciated!

With condoms, water-based lubricants (Astroglide/Wet) are recommended. Test a coconut oil on a condom; if it is bad for the condom, the condom will be ruined soon enough.

Still go for the water-based lubricants. Good luck, mac

Hi there,

I would avoid anything except water-based lubes that are intended for latex.
