Me and my exboyfriend were having sex and I have been on birth control for 2 years but I was on antibotics and the label on them said may make birth control uneffective and we still had sex without a condom... He pulled out but could I still be pregant.. I am 2 weeks late but I spotted a little for a day...??? I am so scared because he was cheating on me and was engaged to another woman and now what if I am pregant??

I'm sorry to be the bringer of bad news.....

It is recommended that you use a back-up birth control method seven days after you stop your antibiotics, because it can interfere with your pill's effectiveness. When your ex pulled out, it did not guarantee you not getting pregnant. It is a common misconception. Semen can be released before ejaculation, so there is a possibility of pregnancy. However, you might be experiencing an irregular cycle. I would see my gyno or take a pregnancy test to be sure.

Best of luck

Hi ilittlescared, welcome!

I agree with the other poster, there is a chance that you might be pg. Some antibiotics reduce the effectiveness hormonal contraceptives for some women so the risk is real, but not necessarily high. The next time you are on ABs you should use back-up during the time you are taking them and for at least 7 days after taking the last dose. It’s not unheard of for Aunt Flo to take a month off even when you are on the pill so perhaps that is what happened. If you are already 2 weeks late then a test should be accurate. You need to test as soon as possible so you have time to consider your options. I hope you get the answer you want. Let us know how you're doing, ok?

Hugs,
