yeast infec. again?

(sorry this may be gross to some people)
yesterday i noticed some discharge on my underwear (and shorts since i went commando while doing laundry) and it smelt a bit yeasty..and i was a bit itchy. i called the pharmacy immediately and had them fill the perscrip. i had from my 1st yeast infect. (the dr gave me 2 pills) do you think it's alright if i take this one now even though it's probably in the early stages of a yest infec. just to kill it off so it doesnt get worse? that would be the plan huh? and how long should i wait to have sex? oh and another thing...will drinking cranberry cocktail or cranberry juice help this late in the game?

If you know you have the beginnings of a YI then I think taking the same thing your doc gave you before would be ok. I drink unsweetened cranberry juice (it can't have any suger in it) to help prevent UTIs but I've never had any success with it helping with YIs. But, if that wirks for you, then go for it! I hope you're feeling better soon.
Good luck,
Jill
cranberry juice is for UTIs, yogurt is what you want to eat to prevent a YI.

thanks for the replies. i didnt end up taking the pill. i dont know what was going on..just some bad odor down there..smelt yeasty but didnt have any discharge and wasn't painful after that last post. i still got the prescription filled *just in case* but i'm ok for now.
what i think cause that is b/c i work at a day camp and we go swimming everyday. i usually wear my bathing suit in the morning and then change after. but there are some days when we dont end up swimming so i wear my suit all day. and i thought that could be the case...i didnt wear it at all last week and it seemed to help.. or maybe its just psychological? there's no smell and i dont have any other symptoms.
i thought someone told me last time i posted about a YI that i should drink cranberry cocktail juice b/c that helps flush everything out of your system. but apparently its for UTI's since there've been a few other posters that suggested so
