Lack of sensation in breasts & genitals

Hi! I'm new here... I read all the way back into 2003 to see if this had already been posted and didn't see anything.... I have two related questions:

I'm 26 years old and have very little sensation in my breasts and nipples. I'm a 36C and heard that sometimes larger breasts aren't as sensitive, but I hate to just accept it without inquiring. Most guys like my breasts b/c of the size, but I get almost no pleasure from them being touched...my nipples are almost numb. The ironic thing is that I am more sensitive on my sides and my back...so I enjoy being touched there more...but that just seems kinda sad. I'm wondering if any other poeple have had this experience or if it might be caused by hormones, etc.... I've been this way for at least 6 years (when I started being more sexually active) but I've also been on BC pills that whole time.

I also don't think I'm very sensitive at all in the genital area... I know I used to be more sensitive when I was a teen, but I almost feel like I've worn out my clitoris over the last 10 years (even though I haven't been that active, but I have used vibrators and the bathtub) and I'm almost afraid that I'm becoming less and less sensitive in my clitoris which makes it harder to get lubricated and orgasm... I've thought about switching to lower estrogen BC pills since I was off the pill at one point and it seemed to help the dryness, but I don't know if it helped the sensitivity..don't remember. I just feel like I need too much of a strong touch to really feel much in my clitoris, but I know I used to have more sensation...???

Sorry this is so long... Does anyone have any ideas about how to increase sensation or what could cause this lack of sensitivity in either or both areas????

Hi tri_girl_2, welcome!

It’s possible for your sensitivity problem to be caused by your BCPs I suppose. Sometimes hormonal contraceptives have all sorts of unanticapated side effects. Lower levels of estrogen might be causing your symptoms. See:

http://www.ivillagehealth.com/library/nwh/content/0,,215912_271652,00.html I think if I were you I’d talk with my doc and see of s/he thinks it could be caused by your pills, or if there is something else causing it. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?

Good luck,

Hi Tri girl!

I'm 22 and almost have the same problem as you do. I am a 36C too, I do have sensation on my nipples but not my breats. There are certain places on my breasts that I could pinch as hard but I won't feel anything. My doc doesn't have much to say about it. He said they probably are fibrocystic breasts. Just wanted you to know I know how you feel.

Smiles!
