Mons Veneris

Over the last several days, I have had itching around the bottom edge of my mons veneris. Upon closer inspection, I realized that it looks like there are some very, very tiny little tears. I only knew they were there when I stretched the skin to look and I could see the little red slits. It still itches and stings. I've researhed and researched and I can't seem to find anything (at least on the internet) that could tell me what is causing this. I got my annual pap several weeks ago, so I am still waiting on the results of that. This came up since then. Should I schedule an appointment with my OB/GYN to have her look at it?

I think your labial tears could be caused by a lack of estrogen (if you are on a very low estrogen oral contraceptive for example) or if you are using a soap that might be drying you out. If I were you I'd have my doc. check things out and get a proper diagnosis and treatment. I know that tears can be very uncomfortable. I hope you are feeling better soon. Let us know what your doc says, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
Thanks for the information. I just switched from Ortho Evra to Depo Provera, and I read that Depo has no estrogen. I am going to try to switch my soap, as well, to see if that can help. I'll keep you posted.
