is an STD possible from first time?

My partner and I started having sex a little over a month ago. Every time we have used a condom, and every time except the first I have pulled out before I finish (I'm slightly paranoid in that regard). We are each other's first sexual partner for any type of sexual contact; there was never any sex or sexual acts done by either of us on anyone else before we got together and ever since. We did, however, perform sexual acts on each other prior to having sex, although 95% of the time they were from me to her.

The past two days, I have noticed two small things that seem like they could be symptons for an STD. This doesn't make any sense to me though, because neither of us had ever had any sexual contact with anyone before we got together.

I guess my question is, then, is it possible that I have an STD? Or is that impossible because of our previous abstinance? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you can catch an STD with your first and only partner. You didn't describe your symptoms. Herpes (HSV-1 cold sore) is very "common" STD. It can be spread thru kissing somebody; then the sexual partner performs oral sex. The HSV-1 becomes genital herpes.

IMO, always use protection when doing ANY type of sex activity. Mac

Thank's for your help. My symptons are: dry, red, somewhat flaking (? I guess that's the word) skin on scrotum (although I think that that may be from using Lava soap every day for the past week or so? is that possible?), and a slight reddening/ swelling at the opening of the urethra (although that just appeard today). Thanks again for your help.

Hi jambandman, welcome!

As I remember Lava soap it was a pretty harsh product. I think that might well be the reason the skin of you scrotum, probably the most sensitive skin on a guy, is red and flaky. As macman04 said it is possible to become infected with an STI by a single unprotected act of intercourse or in other ways other than penile vaginal sex. You may be ok, but if you’re concerned you should see your doctor. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?

Good luck,

I'm thinking that it's probably the soap that you are using. If you know for certain that your partner has never been with anyone else, then I would think you are ok. Sounds like the two of you are very open and honest with each other.
