I can use any advice any one has. Please help me. I am on the patch but i messed it up. I usually take it off on tuesday mornings and put on my new one right away... just like instructed. But on the 31st of august (tuesday) i took it off and forgot to put on a new one til late wednesday. then three days later i had a lot of sex unprotected with my b/f. now two and a half weeks or so later... like scheduled i took my patch off on Tuesday for my week off to have my period. i usually get it on thursday... friday morning at the latest. im still waiting. it is still friday and all but i really wanna know if i would be showing signs already just two weeks after conception? is it possible to already miss a period and start showing signs two weeks later? Please help me out. Thank you so much! ****babygurl_19****

Hi babygurl_19, welcome!

You should use back-up for at least 7 days after missing your patch change day. Having sex with your BF 3 days after being 2 days without your patch was pretty risky and no one can say how much your protection may have been decreased. Since you were 2 days late putting your next patch on you should start your patch free week 2 days later than normal. You should have left your last patch on for the full 7 days and adjusted back to your start day by shortening your patch free interval. Aunt Flo doesn’t always show up exactly on time so you may still be ok. If she doesn't show up at all then you can test to see where you are. Let us know how you're doing, ok?

Good luck,

It really depends on how long you've been using the patch. I'm also on it but I just started and from my reading on the pamplet that came with it, one of the first cautions that is mentioned is the absence of your period. You should still have a pregnancy test done to just to be sure and if it comes back negative then you should contact your doctor if your still concerned or not cause they're going to be able to help you the most.

If you do not get your period and a pregnancy test comes back negative, still be cautious. I did not find out that I was pregnant with my daughter until I was 6 weeks along.
