I have a tipped uterus, and sex is painful for me, so I was just wondering if any of you have that problem, and maybe what positions, if any, are less painful for you during intercourse.

Thanks...

Hi metoo217, welcome!

I don't have a tipped uterus but what I have found is that a different position (other than on top or missionary) will allow me to comfortably accommodate a much larger man. Taken from behind while on all fours, doggie style, or standing in heels, bent at the waist and holding my ankles with my legs spread works well for me. That way the upper organs of the reproductive tract are pulled up (or down) and out of the way by gravity. That might work for you. There appears to be a simple surgical procedure to correct a tipped uterus. You might want to talk with your doctor to see if that would be appropriate for you.

Below are links to some articles on pain during intercourse, which is called Dyspareunia, and some ways to minimize or correct some of the problems that can cause it.

Thanks dancer31,

I actually went to see my doctor on monday, and she told me that she does not do the procedure to correct a tipped uterus, she doesn't think it's a good thing to do. So for now, I'm suck with it, but hopefully your suggestions will help.

Thanks again.

If you want to pursue a corrective procedure you might want to at least get a second opinion. Just a thought…

I also have a tipped uterus and it's really uncomfortable during sex in the missionary position. It's usually ok in almost any other position. When you are in the missionary position, trying putting a small pillow or towel or something like that under your hips to tilt them up a little. This works really well for me. Also, I think this is a pretty common problem and unless it's causing huge difficulties, doctors don't like to operate. I hope this helps some!
