Allergy to one lube=lube sensitivity?

Ok, I've a rather weird and very annoying question to ask: has anyone ever experienced an allergy to one kind of lubricant that then sparked a sensitivity to all lubricants, even one that you have used successfully in the past?
You see, my boyfriend and I have been using Astroglide for months now, and have been extremely happy with it. A few weeks ago, we thought we might try KY's Warming UltraGel, but we soon stopped using it because I'd get a very uncomfortable burning sensation when he pushed inside (not really burning on the outside). So we switched back to Astroglide, but now I'm getting that same burning sensation with that as well! To the point of sex being too uncomfortable (burning too much) to continue.
So can my allergy to the warming gel have triggered a sensitivity to Astroglide as well? I'm quite unhappy about this, as you can imagine! If this is the case, what recourse do I have? Are there any water-based lubricants that are hypoallergenic (sp.?) that I may try? I should mention that we don't use condoms - I'm on Depo-Provera, and we're monogamous, so perhaps we should give oil-based lubricants a try?
Thanks SO much for any advice in advance!

Are you sure it's the lube that is giving you the problem? You might want to try intercourse with a condom (polyurethane if latex is a problem for you) or if you are too dry for a male condom use a female condom and see if you have the same reaction. If you don't then it's possible you might have developed a reaction to his semen. If that's the case you should see your doctor.
If you have already been there - done that, then you might want to try a silicone based intimate lube. I use Eros Body Glide for underwater sex and it works very well for me. It is: “Latex and rubber compatible. Tasteless, odorless and fragrance-free. Hypo-allergenic Excellent non-staining massage”
Eros Body Glide is one of the lubes offered at (for example): http://libidotoys.com/safesexmall/erect_cream/ just one of the many places on the Internet where it's available or perhaps you can get it in an intimate toy shop near you. Let us know what you decide and how you're doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
I doubt that it's a semen allergy: he pulled out in the middle of intercourse to put the lube on me, and as soon as the Astroglide touched me I started to burn - not before. And I burned where he spread it on the outer areas as well. But I'll try the condom just in case... if I DO have a semen allergy, how does one go about handling that? Are there allergy pills to pop for that particular kind of allergy?!
Thanks also for the Eros suggestion: there are lots and lots of pretty decent adult stores near where I live, so I'm going to go hunt. I'll let you know how it turns out.
Thanks so much!!
Take care,
Jill
