Painful pelvis and vagina

Hi, I am posting here and in another spot, not sure which is best!
Here is my history. married 7 yrs, 3 children, tubes tied in 2/04, diagnosed with Graves/Hyperthyroid in 8/04. Now since the thyroid thing I've had an irregular period, one in June one Oct 8th, which was normal. This past week I've feel a feeling of pressure or heaviness in my lower abdomen along with some slight pain shooting across the front of it. From hip to hip so to speak! I had intercourse this weekend (and last weekend) and all the times I had it recently, I've noticed pain with penetration. Deep pain. Not enough to stop, but enough that it was on my mind the whole time and couldn't wait for it to be over! Today I have pain still. In the same areas I mentioned.

I had an ultrasound done (before this) b/c of missing periods when they were trying to find out what was wrong. They said it looked like I had PCOS, however my gyno says that she feels it will clear up when my overactive thyroid is cleared up. What could it be? Should I be worried or is this something that happens every so often? I'd say it's lasted about a week now.
I have no signs of an infection, no burning, no weird discharge, itching, odor, etc.
Thanks

What are you taking for the thyroid condition? Could there be some interaction there that might be causing your pelvic symptoms? When does your doctor think your thyroid condition will improve? If I were you and concerned I'd get a second medical opinion. I'm sorry we aren't more help. The ladies on the Gynecology board might be able to help: http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-bhgynconcern if you haven’t already posted there. I hope you are feeling better soon. Let us know how you're doing, ok?
Hugs,
Jill
