bleeding from unusual positions

hi. my boyfriend and i have sex 1-2 times a week when we see eachother on the weekends. i dont usually go on top because it is generally uncomfortable for me, but this weekend we decided to try again. again, it was slightly painful, but i wanted to make him happy so i stayed on top. afterward, when i took the condom off, there was a tiny bit of blood on it, nothing big. i havent had any recurring pain or bleeding since then, and we had normal sex the next day and it didnt hurt nor did i bleed. should i be concerned at all? thanks for all of your help!

If there is no more bleeding or pain I think you are probably ok. On top you can try moving higher or lower on his hips, facing toward him or away, and leaning forward or back. Astride on top gives most women considerable flexibility to control the direction and depth of penetration. He may be hitting your cervix which can bleed easily especially if you are on hormonal contraceptives. If you have had a recent pelvic and everything was ok I don't think there is anything for you to worry about. Let us know how you're doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
