About four years ago, i went to a party drank too much and passed out. While I was sleeping, I felt people doing things to me but i couldn't really comprehend what was happening. The next morning my vagina and the inside of it was in so much pain. They had raped me and done some horriable things that changed my life. After the incident had happened, I didnt speak of it to anyone for fear of what these guys would have done to my family or my home or to me. It wasn't my fault but I do blame myself for being there when i wasnt supposed to be and for drinking way to much. Now, four years later I've tried very hard to get over what happened. I dont party and I dont drink like that anymore. I have a boyfriend that i've been with for over 2 years. He knows what happened but he accepts me for who i am. But here's the problem...we've been trying for a good 2 years to have a baby with no positive results. I've tried to take birth control to regulate my period for some months and still no good outcome. I've gotten my yearly pap smear, urine samples, breast exam, (etc) and the results came back negative. The gyno even stuck her finger inside of me and felt around concluding that everything was ok. I'm afraid that these guys took away my chance to raise a shorty and it breaks my heart. What do you think is wrong? Can it be fixed? Will i need surgery?

Oh hon, I'm so sorry about what those guys did to you! No one on this board can say for sure what your problem is trying to conceive (TTC) but here are some thoughts.
I’m not sure how you were using BCPs in order to try to conceive unless your Gyno was trying to see if hormones would reset your cycles. BCPs themselves suppress ovulation and the pill-period that you get while taking them is not from ovulation but is withdrawal bleeding from stopping the pills for a few days.
Timing is very important when trying to make a baby. If you have irregular menstrual cycles timing can be a challenge. Has your Gyno looked into what might be causing your irregular cycles? Were you irregular when you were younger? Sometimes you can grow out of being irregular but sometimes there are medical conditions that can cause it.
You might want to try charting your fertile signs basal body temperature, cervical position and cervical fluid to identify your fertile days and concentrate your baby-making efforts then. A very good book on the menstrual cycle and charting is Toni Weschler’s Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It’s available in most libraries and at bookstores.
Remember, it’s not just your reproductive system that has to function properly when TTC, his does too. Before you spring for big bucks on fertility tests for yourself you might want to consider having his sperm count checked.
Have you talked to your Gyno about TTC for two years with no success and if so what did s/he say? If you haven’t, it might be a good idea to have that conversation now.
