I know this is kind of off topic but, I'm thinking of going for a bikini wax and was curious about what to expect.

Thanks,
Diane

Hi Diane, welcome!

If this is your first time it will be an experience! Remembering way back about my first time I was more surprised than anything. It did hurt at first but not for long and the more times you have an area waxed the less hair there is there for next time. It would be a good idea to wait a few days after shaving if you want your legs waxed so there is plenty of hair for the wax to adhere to. You might also want to get a skin care product to minimize the possibility of ingrown hairs afterward. I just use aloe vera gel but there are preparations in your pharmacy and I imagine the waxing salon sells them too. What are you going to have waxed? Let us know how you like it, ok?

Good luck,

Hey there,
Here was my experience. The first time it hurt especially the more sensitive areas. I have noticed the longer the hair the more likely it is to hurt. So I recommend a trim beforehand, but not too much remember they need enough to grab onto. They say the first time is the worst because the hair is more rooted. But it is so worth it. Also.... this may sound weird but have you ever noticed that most people's underarms do not get many ingrown hairs? Well I guess the deodorant might have something to do with helping that out. My 2nd waxer recommended I get some and put it where she waxed and I had almost no problem at all. Anyways hope it goes well. You'll love it. Not the experience but the convenience afterwards.
