Hello wanted to know if you lady's could give me alittle help

Seven days ago, which was Monday I took my Otho TriCyclen Lo BCP and a couple of minutes later I took an amoxicillin which is a form of antibotic. I know they say that the anibotics lower the effectiveness of the pill but how soon does it lower it???? Well n e wat that night I had unprotected sex with me fincee, he did not cum inside of he he pulled out and proceeded to masturbate.

Well, Tuesdays I took my BCP at the regular time and everything, but I had notice that some of the medication, along with my bad cold I was taking was making me throw-up everything I would sallow including my BCP. So that Wednesday and Thursday I stop taking my BCP because I was not able to keep it down at those time because I had a really bad cold.

Well, that Thursday on ThanksGiving, my period came threw. I also had protected sex that Thanksgiving night. I wanted to know, Do you all think it is from me missing my two BCP or could I be pregnant??????????????????????

1)I took my BCP Monday with antibotics and had unprotected sex, but he did he pulled out and masturbated,
2)miss BCP on Wednesday and Thurday,
3)period came on Thursday night and is still on very light

Hi jbabygirle, welcome!

Your antibiotic might have decreased your protection but if it did it would take several days for you to ovulate. In real life (rather than theoretically), withdrawal is not an effective method of birth control as there are too many things that can go wrong and there are some sperm in his pre-ejaculate.

If you didn't take or vomited your pill Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (Have you begun your pills again?) then you are definitely at risk if you have had IC without using another effective method of protection. When you start your pills again you should use back-up until you have taken at least 7 days of active pills correctly and consecutively while your hormonal protection is reestablished. The bleeding you got after stopping your pills wasn't your regular pill-period but was the response of your body to your stopping your pills. Bleeding usually isn't a sign of pregnancy but you need to get back on an effective form of birth control as soon as you can. If you are still concerned you can test. A good test kit is accurate about 2 weeks after the event of concern or after you miss a period. I hope you're feeling better. Let us know how you're doing, ok?

Good luck,

      Jill
