HELP! VAGINAL FUSSERS.

I went to my ob/gyn a few days ago for pain and burring with intercourse. She said that I have fissures, meaning tiny cuts/tares all inside my vagina from intercourse. She said that until the cuts/tares are healed, intercourse will be painful. She said that some of the cuts might even be nerve deep. The thing is, I will be able to see my husband between December 16th and 26th for about 5 hours or less per day. After that he goes to Iraq in January. We have been told, for sure that this will be out last time together until he gets back. I am afraid that I will not be healed up by then. The doctor said i got them bc of to much sex to soon (I was a virgin when I got married the end of October, made love 6 times in 4 days)Does anyone know of how to make these cuts/tares heal faster or to make the pain go away during intercourse? Any medication? Also, the cuts/tares were caused from intercourse. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Hi justmarried102104, welcome!

I’m Sorry hon, I know this is no fun for you… Did you explain your situation to your doctor when you saw her for diagnosis of your discomfort? If she hasn't already, she may be able to give you a soothing medicated cream to help speed healing but you don't have much time. If you can’t get to your doctor ask your pharmacist what s/he recommends. Vaginal tissue usually heals quickly, but, depending on where the cuts and tears are it may not be possible for them to completely heal by the 16th.

If you are healed enough by the 16th that you want to try intercourse be sure to use PLENTY of intimate lube such as Astroglide or K-Y Liquid. Right now, in your condition, there is no such thing as too much lube! Two cautions, unless you are trying to conceive: 1. If the medication you are given for the cuts is oil based and you are still using it on the 16th it may cause latex condoms to deteriorate rapidly and fail so it might be a good idea to use polyurethane ones, such as Avanti or Trojan Supra. 2. If you are on hormonal birth control and the cream is an antibiotic it could decrease the effectiveness of your protection. So it would be a good Idea to use condoms while you are using the cream and for at least 7 days after you stop using it. Remember, when you have intercourse again use plenty of a water base intimate lube. Let us know how you're doing, ok?

Good luck and hugs,

      Jill

I hope it helps too. However, if you are not healed in time, definitely consider alternatives to intercourse (i.e., oral sex). Do not have intercourse if you are not healed because it will just make the problem worse.
