Hi...

I'm not trying to take Jill's job here, LOL...but since it seems many people drop by this board, but don't post...I wondered if we could start a conversation that was for everyone:)

So how about a couple of conversation starter questions...

1)Are you *comfortable* talking with others about your sexual health? (in person? only online?)

2)Is "good sex" a need or a want in your life?

3)Does the complexity of the female body (hormones included, lol)annoy or empower you?

Thanks for anyone who has time to answer:) I am a 44 yo lady who has not always felt it was easy to talk of such things!

Hi Sandy,

Great questions!

1)Are you *comfortable* talking with others about your sexual health? (in person? only online?)

Yes, I’m comfortable discussing my sexual health and sexuality on line. In person it would depend on who I’m talking with. I find some of my friends are reluctant (embarrassed?) to discuss their sexual health.

2)Is "good sex" a need or a want in your life?

For me good sex is a need.

3)Does the complexity of the female body (hormones included, lol) annoy or empower you?

I think being female is very empowering, especially when I’m fertile! I feel especially alive and creative then. I have been very fortunate that I haven’t had many ‘female’ problems and I actually enjoy my periods – I see them as a renewal of the life cycle, so as the song says, I enjoy being a girl!

How about you? Other members, please share your thoughts!

Hugs,

      Jill

1)Are you *comfortable* talking with others about your sexual health? (in person? only online?)

Yes, and I even enjoy it. I like exchanging experiences and giving or receiving suggestions.

2)Is "good sex" a need or a want in your life?

Well, if you define "good sex" by not being tears after 5 minutes because of the pain, it's never happened to so I suppose it's just a want.

3)Does the complexity of the female body (hormones included, lol)annoy or empower you?

Both, I guess. When I'm having problems or pain, it annoys me. But when I think about being part of the complexity of life, I feel empowered. Despite everything, I do like being a girl.

Guess I should answer my own questions for you all:)

1)Are you *comfortable* talking with others about your sexual health? (in person? only online?)

I am fine online, and generally feel others think I offer TMI in person. I have had a couple lady friends over the years who I have had good discussions with in person w/o any major discomfort.

2)Is "good sex" a need or a want in your life?

For me, yes, a need... I guess it most often is about IC, but it really would not have to be. It is the regular participation at the emotional (and physical) bonding level with the same person that makes it so important for me.

3)Does the complexity of the female body (hormones included, lol)annoy or empower you?

Mostly annoy. I am glad to see others say they are happy being a girl...for me that has been a struggle over the years...always seems guys get to do the coolest stuff. Pregnancy is empowering, but the rest of womanhood feels sort of lost on me *shrugs*.

I went looking to see if anyone else asked my *drive by question* when I saw this post and thought I would play too.

1)Are you *comfortable* talking with others about your sexual health? (in person? only online?)I would say both- but only in certain situations- I'll talk to women- but men are harder-

2)Is "good sex" a need or a want in your life? a want-

3)Does the complexity of the female body (hormones included, lol)annoy or empower you? it empowers me- as long as everything works!

Thanks for anyone who has time to answer:) I am a 44 yo lady who has not always felt it was easy to talk of such things!
