first time after effects

I slept with my boyfriend for the first time about 72 hours ago...and we were both virgins, I didn't bleed because I masturbated a lot before we did this so I had already broken my hymen, but I have started having a somewhat strong smelling discharge within the past day and a half, and I am wondering if this is natural. I know that's gross, but I just wanted to kno whether it was something natural, or if it could be from the lubricant on the condom we used, or what this may be caused from. Thank you for any answers you can give me.

Hi lilmsinocent, welcome!

Spermicide and condoms don't usually leave an unpleasant odor, unless the condom is left in the vagina, then it will develop an unpleasant odor.

An unpleasant smelling discharge that may be clear or colored, thick or thin could be Bacterial Vaginosis, (BV). A good article about BV is: http://familydoctor.org/234.xml You should go to a doctor to get an accurate diagnosis and the proper medicine prescribed. BV by itself isn't particularly harmful and is rather easily treated but if left untreated it can develop into problems that are much more severe. Let us know what your doctor says and how you are doing.

Good luck,

thanks for your reply...do you think i should wait it out and see if it's just from the condom before I think it's from BV? Thanks

No Hon, latex will only develop a bad odor if left inside you for several days. That didn't happen did it? You should see your doctor right away to determine what is causing your foul smelling discharge. Let us know how you're doing.

Good luck,

if the smell fades should I assume it was just something odd?

No, you should not, because you don't know what caused it. You may have something that needs medical attention or you may not and you aren't going to know one way or the other unless you see a doctor. Let us know how you're doing.

Good luck,
