Shakes after orgasm - Please Help

I'm new here, but have enjoyed reading the message boards for some time. Hello to you all!!

And now, for my probelm...

My boyfriend and I enjoy a healthy sexual life... with the fact that I'm still a virgin! We do most everything BUT, so often we orgasm. Sometimes, after I get really cold, and shiver for awhile, but then it goes away. Which never much concerned me; I'm always cold. And my family thinks I have bad circulation (my hands turn blue in the cold and such).

But last night, after my orgasm, I got the shakes and I couldn't stop!! I was freezing. It was about 86 degrees outside and he had the air conditioning on... I was under the covers and laying against him... and his sunburn!! for warmth. I actually felt a little ill, and after I got a piece of gum in my mouth I felt a bit better, but was still freezing and shaky for a bit, until he finally warmed me up.

Any thoughts? Advice? Thanks. :)

Hi his_fashionista, welcome!

I don't know what is going on with your shivering after orgasm but I have had the same reaction during extensive dental procedures. So much so that now I know to ask for a blanket to cover me while the dentist works on me. I have no known circulation problems so I think my shivering is a physiological reaction to a stressful experience similar to coming of an adrenaline peak after a sports competition.

Since you are always cold and you hands turn blue in the cold I think it would be a good Idea for you to have a thorough physical exam and see if your doctor can find what your problem is and suggest a method of treatment. Here is an article about fingers that change color: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003249.htm It appears that there can be an emotional component in some instances so perhaps the emotional peak of sex is aggravating a circulatory condition.

I know you said you are still a virgin, but just remember to be very careful when the two of you are playing with his fluids. If you are fertile and are fingered with ejaculate on the fingers there is a chance (though a small one) you could become pregnant. Inserting a good vaginal spermicide before playing with him would protect you from that possibility. When you are ready for intercourse, be sure to use condoms unless he has been tested and is free of any STDs. Let us know what your doctor says and how you’re doing, ok?

Good luck,
