hey guys!
new to the boards, hope to check it out often! :) I have a weird question/concern to start it off with. (i' hope this is the right board to post this lol.)
I noticed that i have a weird odour that comes from my "butt" rea, especially when i apply body lotion, when i spread my butt cheeks , (may spread the cheeks a little, to rub body lotion in, and notice it right then, as when the "crack" is exposed.. (oh gosh, sorry to get graphpic..u get the point :)..I am very hygenic, and clean this area well. I'm just wondering if this hope area has a naturally occurring odour, or if i should get this checked? oh gosh, this is a weird post lol.
thanx a bunch,
Leese

Hi Leese, welcome!
If you are wiping correctly and washing the area thoroughly I don't think there should be a different scent from that part of your body. I'm in strings and thongs this time of year and know what you mean about applying lotion in that area though mine is usually high SPF. If you are applying body lotion just after a bath you should just smell the scent of your soap or, for some women with very oily skin then perhaps a bit of your own natural scent but it shouldn't be any different that other parts of your body. If you are not applying the lotion immediately after a bath, perhaps you are picking up the scent from a recently worn garment such as a wet swimsuit or a leather or latex skirt.
Are you having any symptoms of a vaginal problem such as a yeast infection that can sometimes smell a bit like fresh bread? Usually with a YI there are other symptoms, being red and itchy and having a cottage cheesy discharge, but not always. A good article on YIs is: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001511.htm
I'm sorry I can't be of more help. You might want to ask your doctor and see what s/he says. Thanks for posting let us know how you're doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
it could be sweat as well but if you think their might be something wrong you should ask your doctor of what could be causing it.
