Recurrent Yeast - transfered to BF?

Hi, I have been getting recurrent yeast infections for 2 years now, ever since I've been on birth control. I've tried everything, I switched BC pills, I take acidophilus, wear no underwear or plain white cotton underwear and every other suggestion you could think of. After I switched pills I thought they were finally going away but now it seems I get one after I have sex. Is it possible I've transferred the infection to my partner? He has no symptoms though. And if this is possible is there an easy way to treat his infection?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice!

Hi kinky498, welcome!

I'm sorry about your recurring YIs. Hormonal contraceptives can make some women more susceptible to YIs. It might be that the medicine you are using isn't quite strong enough to eliminate the infection entirely and it continues to occur or your bf inside you is enough to change your Ph enough to cause overgrowth of the bacteria. It is possible, although not common, for partners to pass the infection back and forth between them. His doctor could do a culture to see if he shows yeast and then prescribe something to get rid of it. If your partner isn't reinfecting you, you might want to talk with your doctor about using another more aggressive method of treatment. A good article on YIs is: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001511.htm I hope you find something that works for you. Come back and let us know how you're doing.

Good luck,

ummm, does he cum in you...just because too much sperm can lower the ph level that is suppose to be at 4.2 in the females and cause yeast infections...i use to get them when i took antibiotics, or when my bf came in me like 10 a week or so
