okay, i have been with my bf for about 2 years...we are very sexually active...but recently i had bacteria vaginosis for the first time...that was about 19 days ago...since then i have taken the medicine and so forth, but sex is so sore...i'm not talking about loosing your virginity sore or hitting the cervix because he went to deep sore, but like it feels as if it is in the vaginal canal, and it starts about an inch into my vagina...and it fricking hurts like a mofo. like its raw and uncomfortable, like i can't handle it for more than a second, and i'm NOT joking...it has put a strain on our relationship and it sucks...because we love each other, we're 21 and want to just mae love to each other...i mean we have found other means for the time being...but we...I need sex again.can anyone help me...does anyone know what this is? i mean i shouldn't have any stds, i have only been with him and i was tested last december, and he shouldn't have been with anyone and stuff... so i have no idea what this is, but i'm a little scared...help please

Hi confusedinlove27, welcome!

I think your pain during intercourse after being treated for BV could be caused by several things. It could be something as simple as you continuing to have intercourse during being treated for BV and becoming chafed and raw because of the sensitivity of the vaginal tissues or lack of lubrication.

Or, it might be that the medicine you were given for the infection didn't completely get rid of it (either because the medicine wasn't used correctly or because it wasn't strong enough). Or, the BV reduced your resistance to the point that you caught a different infection. A good article on vaginal infections is: Vaginitis Due to Vaginal Infections http://www.niaid.nih.gov/factsheets/vaginitis.htm

If I were you I'd go back to my doctor and be retested to see if the problem is still the BV or if it is something different and get the proper medicine. Thanks for posting. I hope you're feeling better soon. Let us know how you're doing, ok?

Good luck,

      Jill
