Alternative treatments/yeast infections?

I've had trouble with a chronic yeast infection and I'm now on my third antifungal cream treatment. Are there other types of treatments that work for women better then the antifungal creams? Any herbs? I've been reading about boric acid capsules used as supposotories but wouldn'd those be toxic? Or maybe garlic supposetories? Any extra info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi soulfiregirl, welcome!

I've heard of garlic and also yogurt being used in the vagina but I don't know about the effectiveness. Have you been tested so that you know what you have is a YI and that you are using the right medicine to treat the problem? If you are using an over-the-counter medicine you might want to ask your doctor for something stronger. A good article on YIs is: Vaginal Yeast Infection http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001511.htm

Thanks for posting. I hope you find something that works well for you. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?

Good luck,

I went to the doctor and it's not an STD. It's definitely yeast. She gave me a prescription for a stronger antifungal cream which doesn't seem to be working that well. I've heard of garlic being used but wasn't sure if it works well. Figured it couldn't hurt to ask here. Thankyou!
