Alrighty, I have a few concerns.
Well, around the last week of July, my boyfriend of over a year and myself decided to do a little something..(sorry if it's more than you want to know...). We did not have sex (I'm a virgin), but he did decide to "finger" me a little bit. This was the first thing I've done with anyone before. Before now, I had no real problems. But now in August, I notice that the area around my vagina is a little tender/pained and can be pretty itchy at times. It also seems a lot drier than usual, and at times theres a sort of... "open" feeling. I can't really explain it. Sometimes it feels like my vagina is opened, and others it feels like its plugged up. Like I said, I have never had any problem like this before I did anything with my boyfriend... so I was wondering if he could have caused a problem... maybe germs that might have been on his hands could have caused an infection of some sort?
Also, I'm very paranoid about pregnancy. That same day he did what I had said, I also decided to rub his shaft outside of his boxers a little (not even a minute)... due to being a virgin to anything sexual, I was extremely nervous. His boxers felt a little moist, but it was hot in the room, so I figured he might have been sweating a bit, so I didn't think much of it. He later told me that I unintentionally rubbed his actual penis for a second, and this got me very worried about pre-ejaculatory fluids.. especially since I guided his hand for a second to a better spot on me. As far as I know, I didn't get any contact with my vagina when doing so... but I can't help but worry that by some strange twist of fate I could be pregnant from doing that. Especially because a few days afterwards I noticed that I had an upset stomach every day for about a week and a half. Also, I got my period about 2-3 days after said incident, but it seemed a lot heavier than normal. There were certain days towards the end where it seemed extremely heavy, and then it just pretty much stopped after a final "flooding". I've never had that problem, either.
Can someone help try to sort this out for me? Thanks.

Hi white_songbird, welcome!
Hon, you did have sex, you just didn't have penile-vaginal (penetrative) intercourse. If your bf didn't wash his hands before fingering you he might have caused an infection. It is possible that you have a yeast infection from a change in your vaginal ph. If you continue to have symptoms (itchy, burning, discharge) it would be a good idea to see your doctor and get a proper diagnosis so that you are using the right med. to treat the condition. You might just have a yeast infection. YIs are very common and usually easily treated. A good article on YIs is: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001511.htm
If you had your period after he touched your vulva with his penis then you are probably ok. However, it is possible, if you are fertile and there is fertile cervical mucus on your labia, for you to become pregnant from sperm in his pre-cum. It's unlikely but technically possible. Just fingering his penis and then touching yourself could be enough to get you pg or give you a STD if circumstances were just right (or just wrong). You might also want to use a good vaginal spermicide (available in the family planning sections of most pharmacies) when you and bf are fooling around so that you are protected from that sort of accident in the future.
If you aren’t certain that you both are free of STDs it would be a good idea to use condoms as they provide the best protection from them. Since you are becoming sexually active it would be a very good idea, if you aren’t already having annual pelvic exams, to start so that you have a base line for comparison as you begin to be sexually active.
I’m sorry to have taken so long to reply but I’ve been without a computer for a week. Thanks for posting. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill

Actually, he didn't do that... it stayed far away from there the entire time. All that happened was I kind of touched it, then used my hand to move his. He didn't do anything with his penis. It stayed in his pants the entire time, which was lovely.
As for an update, it doesn't seem to be as bad, though I haven't gotten it checked out in hopes that it might just fade out. It's still a little itchy sometimes, and I get a yellowish "discharge" (it's not like it usually is, it's just like... a stain) on my panty liners. I don't know if that clears anything else up.
Thanks for taking the time to read my problem.
Sometimes, if you are just a tiny bit yeasty a YI will go away but often they won't without treatment. Is there any odor to the yellowish discharge? With a YI the discharge can sometimes smell a bit like fresh bread or it may have no odor at all. If I were you I’d have it checked out to be sure so you can get it cleared up and will know what medicine to use if it happens again. Thanks for the update. Keep in touch, ok?
Hugs,
Jill
