Hi rat_ash, welcome!

You are cycling naturally, right? I ask because some members post about 'unprotected sex' (meaning not using a condom) when they are on hormonal contraceptives.

If your natural cycles are very regular and of about average length (28 days) then there is very little chance of an unintended pregnancy from intercourse during your period. However, if your cycles are irregular or short there is a greater chance that you might be fertile during your period and so be at greater risk. If you are on hormonal contraceptives and are taking them correctly you are protected 24/7 so you should be fine. If you are freaking about your chances you might want to test to see where you are. A good test kit like First response is very accurate when used 2 weeks after the date of concern. Thanks for posting. Please come back and let us know how you're doing, ok?

Good luck,

Hello,
I always think of it like this. Their is always that possibility of getting pregnant unless you're on the pill and taking it correctly. ofcorse as long as you and your boyfriend are monogamous and completely faithful you wont have to worry about diseases with unprotected sex or even pregnancy but if youre not on the pill, get tested no matter what.

>>Spearm lives for 7 days in your body <<

Actually, sperm can live for 5-6 days in your body, but only under fertile conditions. If the sperm don't meet fertile cervical mucus which is produced for only a few days just before ovulation they die within a few hours.
