Funny odor?

I just got married 2 months ago today and was not sexually active until we were married. I started on birth control one month before we were married and it's called Seasonal (only have a period every 3 months) The first month of sex was normal, and then the second month i started having a bit of a "fishy" odor (it really does smell like mild fish...) before, during, and especially after sex. It comes and goes, and it doesn't seem to matter if I've showered right before or not. i am not a very strong-smelling girl at all, so this is new to me...is this normal or does anyone have any suggestions or ideas as to what could be wrong? thanks!!

Hi chrisgirl81, welcome!
Congratulations on your Marriage!
A new sex partner can change the Ph of the vagina so that bacteria already there can overgrow the other flora and cause an infection such as Yeast or Bacterial Vaginosis. Both are easily treatable and should be attended to right away. A fishy odor after intercourse is a symptom of bacterial Vaginosis. BV is often accompanied by pain and colored discharge but someone infected may have no symptoms at all. You should see your doctor to be tested to see exactly what is going on. An article on Bacterial Vaginosis is at: http://familydoctor.org/234.xml Thanks for posting. Come back and let us know how you’re doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
