I have posted before thinking it would provide answers, but since I am still posting obviously I am having the issue still. I will try to make this as short and sweet as i can. I am 23yrs old, and have one child. This all started in 02' when I had a leep procedure done. I started getting diagnosed with BV probably almost every other month for a yr. Always took all of the medication , etc..even tried different meds.
It seems to come and go for a year or 2. Which led me to believe I had a soap allergy or something. As long as I used a certain soap and lotion I was fine. Then last year it got to the point it didnt matter what I was using. It was still bad. The symtoms are a white discharge, and fishy odor. Although the odor does change from fishy to just odd. And the discharge goes from thin to thick too. So last year I started going to the doc's again..Many different doc's trying to come up with a solution. Most of them said I didnt even have BV. That I was fine. I know I am not fine. My partners and myself both have noticed this. When some would diagnose me it was with BV again. So this went on and on and on. Then I became preg this year about 4 months ago. And it was an ectopic. Which makes me believe this is something and it has turned into PID and scarred my tubes. But I did get 2 STD's as a teen that were both curable, so the doc's think it could have been damage from that too. Well anyways. I have used condoms, been abstinent, changed partners using condoms, had them checked, etc..Nothing is working. I even broke up with my ex right after the ectopic thinking it was him. Then I was ok for 2 weeks after a bout of antibiotics, had protected sex with someone new...and sure enough it came back. During the last 2 yrs I have had atleast 50 cultures done, all are negative. I even thought maybe it was trich. But when i cut my ex off, and took the meds, it still came back.
So if its not an STD ,what is it?
My only thinking on this are...either the leep made me soooooo sensitive that I can unbalanced faster then anyone else in the whole world.
I really have an allergy to everything including soap and semen..which the doc's dont think so.
The other thing i pondered on was my diet...I have been a borderline diabetic. nothing that required insulin..But they have always told me how to just watch. I get dizzy really easily if i dont eat certain things by a certain time, etc.
So i thought maybe it was too much sugar. So i cut that and it worked for a week, but still came back. Although i have read on here diabetics are prone to all of this.
I just dont know what else to do. I want a hysterectomny thinking that would help. I feel like an uncomplete woman with this..And my luck that really wouldnt help.
I just came back from the doc's again..and once again, nothing.
Keep in mind I have seen several different ones.
IS this yeast, bv????????? I tried to treat as yeast also, and that only helped briefly.
I am so raw now down there i can barely sit down.
Please help with any suggestions

Hi alliread, welcome back!

I'm so sorry hon! :( If several doctors can't figure out what's wrong I'm not sure we can help but here are some thoughts not necessarily in order of importance:

First, some women get a thick white almost yeasty discharge mid-cycle when their estrogen is peaking. That can be normal, but it doesn't explain the fishy odor and if it is accompanied by itching or burning that's probably not it.

Some women become much more prone to vaginal infections when on hormonal contraceptives so if you are on the pill, patch or ring you might want to consider switching to another effective method for a few months to see if that will stop your problem.

Have you tried switching to un-lubricated polyurethane condoms and (if you use it) stopping the use commercial spermicide? If you have a latex allergy or are allergic to spermicide that might stop the problem.

If you haven't already, get a referral to a specialist in vaginal infections and see if that doctor can pinpoint your problem.

Get tested for allergies to see if there is something in your everyday life that is affecting you.

Try vaginal douching. I'm not a believer in douching and don't use them myself and it could make things worse, but if you are out of ideas you might want to consider trying it.

I hope you find out what's going on and are able to fix it. I’m sending prayers and positive thoughts coming your way. Thanks for posting. Let us know how you're doing, ok?

Very big soft (((HUGS)))
