Hello,
I have always expected to get a yeast whenever i start having sex after a dry spell whether it be I am using a condom or not. Now I noticed my recent partner of 8 mths has been different as I can not get rid of my yeast infections....they just keep comming back. I have also gotten bacterial vaginosis twice with him as well. I have been in and out of the dr's office since March with these issues. I have taken all kinds of creams and pills to get rid of it. Here are a few facts of my situation:
I am on the pill (I was on the pill before and didnt have this kind of problem before)
We do it almost every day or every 2 days (I have never been that active before)
We have taken breaks for the treatments but even after 10 days.....It still comes back.
We do not use a condom but I havent always used one...could it be his sperm??
I was using dryer sheets on laundry...is that possible to keep me irritated?
I dont work out that much and do not wear bad underware or any of that.
The yeast is not always the cottage cheese kind. Somtimes it just burns w.out much discharge but I have ruled out all other diseases and the Dr has confirmed its yeast!
So friends I beg for some assistance.....The dr isnt telling me much more I can try...I was thinking to try a natural approach. Any real results from anyone? Any preventative measures? Is it something in my digestive track? I heard of this being a problem for some people too. I do have a problem using the restroom and usually cant go every day (if you know what I mean). I noticed too that since I have been having these yeast problems.....that my hemmoroids have been painful and troublesome as well (I beared 2 kids).
As embarrasing as it is to tell you all my health issues, I am desperate for help and guidance. Any help would be appreciated. At this point....I cant even enjoy or look forward to sex since its so painful.
Thank you
Aarjas

Hi Aarjas, welcome!
I'm sorry you are having so much trouble. I know it’s terribly frustrating to be unable to get rid of a chronic infection.
The yeast that cause yeast infections are normally kept under control by the "good bacteria" in our bodies. If you are taking antibiotics, many of the "good bacteria" may be killed, allowing the yeast to take over. This may also happen from using antibacterial soaps. The yeast is also sometimes allowed to take over if the body's acidic/alkaline balance is upset. This imbalance can be caused by over-cleaning (alkaline douches, feminine hygiene sprays), the use of some spermicides, or by taking some medications (including antibiotics for an infection or some oral contraceptives). Some things that you might want to consider are:
You could try Yogurt or milk fortified with Acidophilus. Acidophilus creates "good bacteria." While taking antibiotics, you can minimize the possibility of a yeast infection by eating three servings of acidophilus yogurt each day or by taking acidophilus supplements. Continue this "treatment" during the ten days of medication and for two weeks afterward.
Be sure to wear cotton panties or at least ones with cotton crotches and be sure to wash them in hot water to insure all the germs are killed.
Another possibility is that a yeast infection can be picked up by your partner, and he can give it back to you again and again. Condoms should be used until after the infection is totally gone. If you are routinely being reinfected your partner should go through the treatment with you.
Sperm allergies do occur but they are pretty rare. If nothing else helps you might want to be tested to see if that could be the cause of your problems.
If your doctor is unable to help you any further you might want to consider getting a second medical opinion.
I hope you can find out what is the cause of your re-infections and that you are feeling better soon. If you have more questions, please ask. Keep in touch and let us know how you’re doing.
Take care and (((hugs)))
Jill
Thank you... I think I need to keep everything out of there until I know its gone for sure...the thing is I think its gone and then the moment I start having sex again.....itcomes back within a week or less. That is why I start thinkning it must be his sperm or maybe all those yeasts just arent gone .....thank you so much for your advice.
