Fingering=Bleeding

I have been sexually active for the past 2 and a half years. 95% of my sexual "sessions" have fingering somewhere in them, which is the easiest way for me to obtain orgasm. Regardless of how soft or hard my boyfriend gets, I bleed. I read that some others bled but replies were due to period or being a virgin and the hymen breaking. How many times can a hymen break? I highly doubt that that has anything to do with it after this much time and I know Im not having my period because they are like clockwork, thanks to the pill.
Does anyone know what this could possibly be? Is it just tissue being caught on his nail (which he actually keeps cut to the quick)? Any and all replies are greatly appreciated!

Hi aprilshowers33, welcome!
Have you had a recent pelvic and Pap smear to rule out any serious problems? The hymen tearing or bleeding from a polyp or scratch in the vaginal wall often involve pain as well as bleeding and if you are getting your annuals your doctor should have picked up on any hymen tissue or growths that might interfere with penetration. You're well lubricated so you're not dry and raw, right? BCPs can reduce the amount of natural lube we produce so if that's what's happening an intimate lube like Astroglide (my fave), Slippery Stuff or K-Y Liquid will work wonders. Regardless of how close his nails are cut if they aren't smooth they can easily tear you, so if you haven't already, that is something you should check.
It really isn't all that unusual for women to bleed a bit after intercourse, particularly if they are on hormonal contraceptives. I think hormones may sensitize the cervix which, on parts of its tip, is covered by only a very thin layer of cells. If that is what is going on, assuming your pap is normal I think most doctors would consider a little bleeding after intercourse not to be abnormal. If you haven't been for a pelvic recently you might want to schedule on to make sure everything is ok. I hope this helps. Thanks for posting. If you have more questions, please ask. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
I'm having the same problem. The last time I had a gyno visit was last July and I wont get another one until June. I was diagnosed with cysts, so I'm on the pill, even tho when I got an ultrasound on my side, they didnt find anything...weird. But I am clean with no STDS or anything and I have only had sex with 2 guys since last July. I stopped having sex in December, but decided I would try with someone new this year in March.
I got together with the guy, but all we got to was fingering, cause I started to bleed...it was weird...he wasnt hurting me or anything...he was a little rough, but it felt good. It was quite embarressing and awkward. But I was freaking out, b/c I didnt understand why I was bleeding. I bled for about an hr and then i was fine. But the next day, my side where the cyst is at, was hurting. But i didnt think anything of it. I just thought it was normal, cause my side hurts every now and then. I started thinking that maybe it happened cause I havent had sex in awhile, but then I wondered why I didnt bleed when i had been with the other two guys. Then about 3 weeks later, the guy I tried to be with before and I got together and within minutes of him fingering me, he pulled them out and i was bleeding again, but more this time than last. I was more freaked out and I said that maybe this is a sign that I shouldnt get with guys until I find a bf.
But I'm in college and still live with my parents, so they pay for my gyno visits. I still have 3 months left until I need to get new prescription for my pills, which means I will probably go for another gyno visit in June. I just cant tell my mom I need to go see the gyno and tell her why I need to. Does any1 know what might have happened? I'm kidna too scared to have sex or food around with a guy until June, which is a long time from now. DO you think the guy I was with just was too hard? Or tore sumthing?
Hi itzlaura, welcome,
Hormonal contraceptives can cause some women to bleed a bit during penetration so perhaps that is what is happening or there may be something else causing your bleeding. I think you should see a doctor to find out exactly what's going on. If you don't have much money and need confidentiality from your parents you might want to consider seeing a doctor at your college student health center, local public health clinic or at Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood Health Centers have an income based scale of prices that you may qualify for. To find one of their health centers near you call: 1-800-230-7526. Give one of them a call, ok?
Thanks for stopping by If you have more questions, please ask. Let us know what your doctor says and how you're doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
